Elements of Art Over Time
In this series ‘A Taste of Time’, contemporary Canadian artist Michael Vuksanovich has a flair for the old masters technique. He uses classical colours, both soft and hard edges and ancient methods such as scumbling and semi-glazing to help create optical illusions. His obvious inspirations are European masters, nature and the human form, God and love. Vuksanovich sees like an artist. He utilizes value, a strong artistic element, to visually define objects, translating light and shadows into shading, thus creating the illusion of a third dimension. Contact: michaelvu...@yahoo.ca
‘Getting Wired’ by environmental sculptor Joanne Waters is an exhibition of animated 3D forms, sea related birds and fish inspired by the waterfront where Waters lives in West Vancouver. Her airy, modernist sculptures are whimsical and colourful creatures emerging from the intertwined manipulation of linear strands of (#20 copper, brass and steel) wire.
