Start MenuX Not Working

I had StartMenuX 4.51 (freeware) installed on my windows 7 64 bit PC and it was working fine. Then it stopped working and reverted to the Windows 7 Start Menu. I installed 4.53 but it still doesnt work, although, oddly, a shortcut called 'Skin Designer' now appears on the Start Menu and it's properties tab show it is linked to StartMenuX.
Can you help, I have used StartMenuX or 7 for a long time, it is by far the best program of it's kind and I do not want to lose it?
