New files not showing in Vista Start Menu/Deleted files showing voids

I searched, but may have missed it:

Each time I add something to a folder that's listed in the Start
Menu(ie: My Documents, My Pictures), it's not viewable when I look for
it in the Start Menu. I have to open the actual folder to access it.

Example: I downloaded a picture from the 'net into My Pictures. As
soon as it finished downloading, I click on Start, navigated to My
Pictures, but did not see it listed. I opened the folder in a separate
window and it was there.

The only way to have it show there, that I've found, was to 're-sort'
the folder in Vista Start menu. That's a huge pain because there is no
option to keep folders at the top and files at the bottom. I would
like to see an option that will do that.

Ditto for deleting or moving things in folders. Each time you delete
something in a folder that's accessed by Vista Start Menu, it leave a
hole where it used to be.

Example: I have about 20 folders in my Download folder and about 125
files. I recently moved all 125 files to their respective folders in
my Downloads, only to open up Vista Start Menu to see this huge void
of where those files USED to be. I download items frequently and my
Documents folder grows and shrinks all the time.

Again, the only way to clean it up was to 're-sort'.

I found, that if you uncheck "Keeps the Positions", and check "Sort by
Name", this does not occur.

Thanks, but most folders I need to keep the positions or the folders
get mixed in with the files. I like the folders to remain on top of
all the other items. I appreciate the tip, though!

Also you may sort by "name and type" to see folders at the top.

Is there any way to correct the problem of the voids and files not
showing when added?

Hi,

The empty space main feature of the program. New added programs appears
on empty space, may be you don't see it in first time. Program show
actual state of the file system.

select one of these 2 options: Sort by Name, Sort by Name & Type
