Perhaps there could be a group of people willing to take on the download and conversion process....?  while doing a single video can be a semi easy thing to get done... being able to do it all the time while you have a job and a family can be a bit much for one or two people to take care of.  If you can treat this like you would treat spam management and let a few people help take on the work... that would be a great way to allow this community to scale

What exactly is involved?  I have a spare desktop PC at home that sits idle all day and would love to share its spare processing power to assist in rendering these.

Can you advise what steps are req'd (specifically) and I can cue up as many of these as I can to crunch out when I'm away at work all day.

I am just a participant in this group but conceptually the steps are downloading the files from live meeting . uploading the files to viddler... updating the VAN website with the appropriate url to the viddler video....   I really dont think there is a lot of processing needed I think viddler does most of the processing.

 

I was just hoping to spark some conversation and help kick start some people to help out.

Kick-start successful.  Have anyone with details (login creds, whatever needed to download from the livemeeting account, etc.) e-mail me info and I will certainly volunteer to do a few.  Shortening the delay between occurrence and available-for-download will benefit everyone -- especially when there is a series of successive sessions based on ea other and someone misses one in the middle (I'm looking at you, upcoming S.O.L.I.D. series!).

Some one or some company would need to provide hosting for the files... That is why the videoes are on viddler now,  the hosting is free.
