Thanks very much for the link. Great, I tried it and was successful. My question is what apps have you tried? I'm looking for an app to use the iphone as a modem. Have any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi, I have used PDANet. You might want to give that a try, however there is some caution to be taken with it. I'd recommend a Google search for PDANet so you can read more about it on the web rather than on list.

The jailbreak definitely works, although I had to do a phone restore first before it would work, i.e. I had to not only erase/reset but had to have iTunes reload iOS before the jailbreak would complete successfully.
Now, I have what I've always wanted, a morse input keyboard:
http://www.iditdahtext.com
You have to turn off VO to use it, but that's not a huge deal.
Now, can anyone tell me if it's possible to set a button press, such as uptown volume, to turn VO on and off, or to turn Zoom on and off? I want to know, so that maybe I can set up Melanie's iPad with a shortcut key for VO and another for Zoom. I didn't see it in Activator, just an option to open up accessibility settings. --

Hey Buddy, get the tweak called Active Access for Activator. This uses the Activator tweak to add custom gestures or commands to enable and disable accessibility functions. For example, I have mine set so that when I press both volume buttons at the same time, it toggles Voice Over. This way if the triple-click home button setting is disabled, I can still enable Voice Over on my own.

I got an Ipad2 a couple weeks ago and I'm enjoying it immensely. the main diffiulty i'm still overcoming is in terms of the gestures. Wen reading email, the list of messages is listed and then the current email is on the bottom or right. Does anyone have suggestions on gestures to move more fluidly from one area to the other?
Well, I have mine in landscape, I use both thumbs and slide left thunb down the message list, use the right thumb to do a split tap on one of them, then use the right thumb alone in the middle of the right pane where the body of the current message is and read it like that until I've had enough, then revert to left thumb down the message list again and so on.
The top-left corner hold the bak button if you want to go to look at other accounts or mail folders.
Hth, RobH.

Hi Kerry,
Since the iPad screen is a bit larger, it's easier for me to learn the layout of the Email screen, locate the Email and then use the 2 finger swipe down to read. Then find where the Delete, Reply or Move buttons are by touching the screen. Moving around the mail screen is difficult with jestures. It's a bit faster with a BT keyboard, but only a little. Pete

You may want to enable containers in the rotor, I am not sure if it will help much but if you want to use gestures to move around the screen then this will at least expand your options. I can't remember if it is enabled by default. Whilst in your mail, use the rotor gesture and see if containers is an option. If it is then great, experiment with it. If not, go into your accessibility settings and into VO then go to the rotor settings and add containers. Oh by the way, containers lets you jump between the major sections of the screen with a single finger swipe down/up. Personally though I use a similar method as already described by the others. With the iPad, it is really worth some time in exploring exactly where on the screen each thing is and then just touch the screen there to move focus.
I will sometimes swipe between the move, delete and reply buttons in the mail app but otherwise I prefer to look for what I want by dragging.
Hope this helps.
