Hello Ioana.

This happens also if my Euro braille is connected and I thought it was normal behaviour as it's always done that since I've had a braille display with my various I Phones.'

Ok, so it is normal but not a good thing I think.
Please everyone consider telling  apple about it if you have not done so already.

Tae care,

Ioana

Hello,

Yes, all displays disconnect whenever the proximity sensor is activated disabling the touch-screen. If you take the phone away from your face and it switches to speakerphone, the braille display should reconnect. I suspect the behaviour is the same with a bluetooth qwerty keyboard.

I can confirm this - have emailed Apple about it so they are aware. one way around it is to use a head set, either bluetooth or wired, so when on a call you can continue to use your braille display to drive the phone for taking notes or whatever.

Hello,

Just so everyone is aware, this is normal behaviour, not a bug. When the proximity sensor activates, all input is blocked from the iPhone. The proximity sensor disables the touch-screen. When the headphone is plugged in, or when the iPhone is on speakerphone so away from your face, the touch-screen works and so do the braille displays.
