Speaking of Siri, can anyone tell me waht to do when I consistently get
the message "Sorry, I can not take any requests right now, plese try
again in a little while."
Or something to that nature? I googled "Is Siri Down"? and got a
website that indicated Siri was down last on april 10th.

I got this I Phone 4 S a week ago and Siri worked fine until this morning.

I realize Siri is in beta, but thought I'd ask.

Thanks.

Steve

That is a prime example where resetting the phone seems to resolve Siri.

Lol, I thought it was my phone specifically, but turns out not.

May I ask, what carrier are you with?

I am with A T and T.

When you say re=set do you mean tapping the power button 6 times or
going in to settings and doing a hard reset and restoring from a backup?

Oops sorry, :)

When it is a voiceover issue, I do the 6-times power button.  For Siri, I power off/on the phone.

Traci,

Most of the time I am on WiFi so I don't think this has much to do with the
carrier.  Hopefully, Apple is on it.  I know Siri is in beta, but that
excuse can only work for so long.  (lol)

Does Siri seem off kilter to others lately? I'm curious if it is just a me
thing. My phone, or Verizon?

It feels like I am needing to power off/on my phone more and more. Siri and
dictating aren't responding as consistently.

Curiously,

Ok, powering off the phone and turning it back on did the trick. Siri
is back. I'm thankful for such a simple solution!

That happens to me as well, and powering off the phone is the only thing
that fixes it.

Rick, that is a good point.  I'm on wifi most of the time as well, lol, what am I thinking.  :)

Well, I'm glad it is happening to many of us, but bummer it is happening at all.

Traci,

I am with Sprint and had been having trouble with Siri as well.  I just shut down the phone and restarted it and it has been fine since.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi all.

I just wanted to thank all of you for the excellent posts on this list,
and all the great app suggestions. Amidst all the speculation about the
I Phone 5, I decided to go ahead and get the I phone 4 s anyway, and am
really pleased with it, it seems snappier and faster, and I do really
like Siri. Thanks much for the suggestion to power off the phone to fix
the Siri problem. I also like the 64 gigis of memory.

This is very odd. I'm on AT&T in Fort Wayne Indiana and have never had
any troubles with needing to reset my phone because of Siri. I've read
about others doing this, but I don't understand why resetting would be
necessary when Siri is server based in the cloud and if it's not
available, it's not available.

Morning I am in South Florida with A T & T. I have come to the conclusion
that Wifi works better with Series then does 3 G we will have to wait to see
how well 4 G works when the next version of the iPhone is released. Series
is still officially in beta so, I am sure the system is constantly being
updated and played with.
