Hi all. I'm going to post some questions here. So far i'm enjoying my i phone 4s and have figured out lots. I'll number my questions here.
1. How can I put a personal greeting on my phone instead of the default?
2. I found the mail and text messaging. i've been using my keyboard and can read messages. How can I delete them after replying?
3. I was out today and couldn't read my mail as I always got the connect to a wifi network. I thought that if you were away that the data plan would work so that you could get on the internet as long as 4. I downloaded two apps, one of them is the type in braille app. I downloaded them with i tunes. After that what do I do as they are definitely on the computer in itunes?
I've gotten a lot figured out so far but there's still lots to learn. Oh how do you get that sent from my i phone out of the message and put your own signature? there was cell phone service.

How do you get in to the apps? Thanks.

I think to customize the voicemail outgoing message there is a button
when you are in the voicemail tab when in the phone app. To delete
messages there is an edit button in the top cornor when you are in the
message list and I think even when you are in the message thread. When
you double tap this edit button each message will have a delete flag
to the left of it you can check. After that I think if I remember
correctly it will ask you to double tap to confirm the deletion. When
you are finished the edit button is now a done button. If you have
wifi turned on and you are not in range of your network or any of your
established networks and the phone sees wifi networks available then
you will get that annoying popup box that asks you to connect to a
wifi network when you do anything that accesses the internet. There is
a cancel button at the bottom of it. To avoid the popup in the first
place, turn off wifi in settings when you are not using it. I hope
this helps. If it is not quite clear I will be happy to clairify.

As far as making your greeting, the first time you do it you must do it on the phone, but i found that the mic picks up Voiceover, and you will hear it in your greeting. But after you do it the first time, you can call your number from another phone, and change the greeting to get a clean recording.

To suppress those popups asking you to join a network, in addition to
turning off wifi, you can also go into Settings -> Wifi and set "Ask to
join networks" off.

The apps should appear on your home screens. You do a three-finger swipe left or right to get to different pages. If they don't appear there, you may need to sync with iTunes.
Hope this helps,
Jenn

Hi, Rebecca. If you purchased the apps with iTunes, you can either sync with iTunes by connecting your phone to your computer or wirelessly, or you can go to the App Store, search for the apps you purchased, and double tap on them. They should already be purchased, and you should get an install button.

If they are synced they will appear, if not, you have to do that.
When phone is plugged into computer with iTunes running, where you see setup, music, etc. one of the checkboxes or buttons is for apps.
Choose that one and sync those and they should appear.
The phone may have to reboot itself first.
From then on, use the app store; it's faster and easier.
If you need help with that, let us all know.
