I believe I have heard discussion about a program that can make ringtones out of things that you have on our iPhone. Is this sounding familiar to anyone? If not, what are folks using to make ringtones these days?
Quite a few users here use my AutoRingtone app. It lets you create
Talking Caller ID ringtones that announce who is calling. And it's
voiceover friendly. There are free versions with a subset of the
voices. Just search for autoringtone or ringtones uncensored, which
is good for text messages as it can speak anything you type.

You can use a digital recorder such as an olympus dm420
or capture sound bites from your favorite movie or song. I use goldwave to do the editing and soundtaxi to do the converting.

I just use a combination of iRinger and iTunes on my PC. I tried an app called Ringtone Remix, but it doesn't install the tones on the phone.
