I'm helping with gnome3 building for FreeBSD on PPc and sparc64 while also trying to get a ppc debian distribution compatible with vinux.

I'm working with two architectures and two operating systems.

I have friends and family who can use orca and vinux.

This will also allow the community to give direct feedback.

Thanks for that - I haven't been able to get Gnome 3 to run on any of my machines yet (video card?) so I will definitely give this a try at some point.

I am willing to help with testing. I'd like to try out Gnome 3. I'll
have to make a Vinux 3.1 installation to do it since I don't think
Lucid has Gnome 3 backported to it and I normally use Vinux 3.0/3.0.1
which is Lucid-based. My Linux installations are on a vmware virtual
machine running atop my pre-existing Windows. I did not have good
luck with Debian due to hardware detection so, I'd like to just take
Vinux 3.1 and install gnome 3 atop it. Will this prove beneficial?
What do you want to know? What packages do you want tested? In what
way do you want them tested? Have you spoken with Nimer Jaber? He's
the Vinux testing coordinator.

Best regards,
Alex M

I also would consider testing on Vinux 3.1 as I have a machine that
could be used for this alone which is not mission critical.
I second Alex's questions however, and would need to get through atk and
at-spi upgrades to do this I assume.

All right, friend. I downloaded the .iso file on the page you
provided. The a11y version. It did not come up talking. So, first
results are in:

Gnome 3 has so far proven inaccessible to yours truly. It didn't talk
to me at all, at all. Silent treatment does not an accessible
distribution make. I *_FEAR_* I shan't be trying it out further
unless you've got instructions on how I can make it talk.

Be well,
Alex M
