Contact MacPro in North Portland. They have an extensive collection
of older Macs as historical collection, and a service dpt that could
probably do what you want for a small fee, or they might take your
computer in exchange as you propose.
2580 NW Upshur St
Portland, OR 97210
(503) 235-7195

How would you go about making an image of the hard drive? Do you just
want the information off of it? How much would shipping cost,
approximately?

I will give this Mac to anyone willing to pay for shipping and if they
can make an image of the hard drive for me so I can run it in in Mini
vMac. I have a lot of college papers on it but I do not want to haul
it around. I live in the Portland, Oregon area if you want to pick it
up.

Wjombat

That's what I was thinking, if the adapter adds scan lines to achieve
the 640x350 resolution of an EGA monitor. Is the .4 scan rate
difference between EGA 21.8 and adapter's 22.3 enough to make them
incompatible? The specs on this adapter are the same from the Plus
through the Classic II which encompass the EGA video standard era and

I am thinking of looking into using dyndns for the Mycroft Server Project the next time around. I notice on the dyndns.org website that they no longer have clients for the older systems.
Do these older clients still work with their service?
Where might I get the client software for System 7?
Regards,

That is for converting the SE video output to something MDA, or Monochrome
Display Adapter, for old TTL monitors that the original IBM PC XT and
similar machines use. Unfortunately it is absolutely nothing like VGA, so
you won't be able to convert.
