I agree with all you said Alexis. We need petite to blend with zin and if we do Grenache, but maybe not too much on its own.
I'd try a Chardonnay. It would be interesting and we could try to lightly oak it. Ill try to get a used white barrel from ridge. They make a chard that is pretty good.
After reading about chianti, I think we can make a much better one than we did before. That's another wine that I'd like to blend petite into, but only 5-10%. We can also think about a super Tuscan / super Oakland by blending Sangiovese with merlot.
Much to think about. Our order needs to be in by June.
