I'm in the reverse situation! I tried Fink years ago, and MacPorts more recently,
and was significantly more impressed with MacPorts.
At any rate, I did find the older email about how to clone/pull MacVim and have
done so, so it's all good. I had already installed git, so that wasn't a
bottleneck! I might install the +svn variant at some stage when I have a bit more
time to invest into it, though.
