Hello All
I thought it might be of interest to share a couple of images of a remote location I visited earlier this week in northern Vietnam. It is a fishing village where all the buildings are afloat and some distance from the nearest shore. It is a complete community including a school which is involved with the One Laptop Per Child project.
Certainly presents some interesting challenges for OLPC and VT style projects.
Regards
Terry

Thanks for sharing, Terry.  I was near here twice.  It is called Ha Long Bay, or Vinh Ha Long in Vietnamese.  A real paradise if you have a chance to visit there.  One of the challenge there is power.  The other factor is that there are many tall and scattered islands, which makes it very hard to have a direct line of site there.

In Mozambique, we will have Internet and cellular service in the first week of January from a third cellular company called Movitel from Vietnam.  They have added more fiber optic than all of the existing companies combined up to now.  We will see how this additional company makes an impact here in our small villages, the last mile/kilometer.

Hi Giang

Good to hear from you again. We had a very  interesting visit to Ha Long Bay area. Cellular / internet access is certainly patchy, but available in more places than I expected.

How is your village Mesh Potato network going?

Regards
Terry
