8 GB ram Not showing in Fedora 14 32 bit OS

Hi All,

I am working on Fedroa 32 bit Os and i3 Processor with 8 GB ram.But When i check My ram 

its showing only 3.4 GB not showing 8 GB.So can  you Please Help me how can i See full ram 8 GB.

Hello,

Check your kernel is that pae ???

If not install kernel-PAE and check.

I have Installed PAE

Process through Below,

# install PAE kernel.

$ sudo yum install kernel-PAE kernel-PAE-devel


process Done successfully but not get result.

While re-booting have you selected kernel-PAE ??

Or open terminal and provide me output of following command

#uname -r

Tejas and After the Installation of PAE lan working Stop.Network cable unplug showing

Hello,

This means you haven't selected PAE.

Boot your Linux box and select PAE kernel from grub.

Network Cable issue is not due to PAE. Test Network cable and if you're sure it has no issue with network card/cable then try check logs.

Yes I have got Option to boot as a PAE kernal but showing same 3.4 GB ram in that login also.

another i checked in Bios its showing 8GB total ram.

I know option must be there but have you selected PAE kernel and boot linux box with kernel-PAE ???

And if yes, then provide me output of following commands :-

Yes Tejas i have Selected as a Boot PAE kernal

and check #uname -r   showing 2.6.35.14-106.fc14.i686

also checked free -m showing 
                   total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
Mem:          3441        492       2948          0         36        271
-/+ buffers/cache:        185       3255
Swap:        15999          0      15999

Its showing only 3.4 GB but i Have Installed 8GB.

Thats what Tejas wanna say. Your system is not booted with the PAE kernel.

Modify your grub.conf to boot from PAE kernel or Select the PAE kernel from the Grub menu, while you restarts the machine.

Hello Tejas,

I have solved My Ram Problem by Upgrade fedora 32 to 64 bit OS.

Its working nice in 64 bit Os.Now its showing 7.4GB ram.
