Hi Team,

Is there anything or how to configure squid to block automatically block unwanted sites/regex/ by it self ( like it will append in somefile which can block it, as we dont want to go manually every-time in that file and add and again restart squid ).
Is it possible without scripting with parameters in squid file ?

Thanks
Anil

Hello,

No, Squid cannot.

You can integrate Dansguardian + Squid.

Dansguardian having facility to block Category wise and all

Visit http://www.dansguardian.org for more details.

Hope this helps you.

Hi Anil,

Is there anything or how to configure squid to block automatically block unwanted sites/regex/ by it self ( like it will append in somefile which can block it, as we dont want to go manually every-time in that file and add and again restart squid ).

What I understand from your query is that you are looking for automatic way to block unwanted sites and you do not prefer manual intervention.

Is it possible without scripting with parameters in squid file ?

I believe that you do not want to write a script but if there is a script available, you do not have problem in using it.

based on this understanding, I'd recommend you to use squidguard with Shalla's Blacklists and use various download helpers provided by Shalla's Blacklists

Please refer to following URLs for more information.

Squidguard: http://www.squidguard.org/index.html
Shalla's Blacklists : http://www.shallalist.de/
Shalla's Blacklists - Download Helpers. : http://www.shallalist.de/helpers.html

But, if you have any reasons to not to use script, provide some more details so that community members can provide you more information.

With best regards,
