Walter,

I've never participated in a swap before, but I gotta start somewhere,
yes? Please sign me up. Not sure what I'll tie yet - gotta research
the Thunder Creek patterns a bit. I'll get back to you later today.

Are the rules posted anywhere? or just send you 11 flies by Feb 15?

Cheers,

Me too...hehe.. Obviously the sculpin is more a color modification. I
will no doubt blend 4 different bucktail colors with copper flash -
olives, browns, and orange / pumpkin...anything that bites a chili
pepper will attack this low profile morsel as well.... It will not
have pectoral fins...unless I am feeling a little "ORDES" like.
hehehe.

Hello Walter,

I was so looking forward to this swap that I am bummed that I have to
drop. My father is in the hospital and I know this will impact time
at my vice. This along with forthcoming work travel is forcing me to
drop this time.

I am hoping there is enough time to get a replacement.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks.

Walter my pattern has changed to an all white variety of Thunder Creek
Streamer, I didn't like the brown hair on my bucktail too short and it
flares too much so the Golden Shiner pattern is out. Half way there
will keep you updated.

I don't know about the too short part, but bucktail taken from the lower
1/3 of the tail does tend to flare. Take some from the middle to tip
and see if that solves your problem

That's where the too short comes into play the hair that doesn't flare
(same area you are talking about) has either been picked over by me or
is too short for the hook/pattern, thus the change. This was an odd
bucktail in that it had a lot more white hair on it than brown and the
white hair was very long and fairly straight but that was the reason I
bought it.

Were okay just damaged possessions and have to deal with the insurance
company (would rather pull my teeth out with old pliers) to get
everything replaced. Anyway I will keep you informed, I looked for
them last night and didnt find them looking again at lunch today. If I
have to I will redo them this weekend.

Walter,

My wife will stop by the post office after school today to mail 11 Thunder Creek Blueback Trout flies, plus 11 info sheets on same, to you.  Is there anything else that you need from me?  Is there anything else you need from me?

This was a very challenging task for me, but I am glad I joined the swap.

Also, I stumbled onto a YouTube video that shows the use of Post-It Notes to keep the different layers/colors of bucktail separate -  however, I don't feel the need to use this technique any longer.

Cheers,
