Closing a backlog item

All,

When you split a backlog item, do you close the backlog item in the sprint that you just closed or leave it in open and close it in the next sprint when the item is completed?

Vijay,

I would recommend closing the story in the sprint you just ended.
With a split you are saying that some of it was completed
and the remaining tasks/tests will carry forward and eventually close
when they are complete.
