Defects across multiple projects and teams

I have many projects at our company over 100. How do other groups
handle defects accross teams? Do you use VersionOne to track the
defect or link them to another bug system. (if so which one?) We
have many teams that use Epics to track their work accross projects,
but in Epics defects can not be assigned as a unit of work in V1.
