Good Morning:

Northern Connecticut Vegetarian Society advocates a compassionate and healthy vegetarian diet.  We wish to provide support to vegetarians by building a community for them and all those interested in the benefits of vegetarianism.  We would like to invite you to our November and December events:

November 16, Sunday, 5 PM Northern Connecticut Vegetarian Society potluck will have Vegan Chef Maribeth Abrams as the speaker.  Maribeth will demonstrate healthy vegan recipes for Thanksgiving. She even has recipes that will please your “raw food” folks.   Maribeth is a Certified Nutritional Consultant and Cooking Instructor at Monaco Center for Health & Healing in Glastonbury, CT.  She is the author of Tofu 1-2-3 and 4-Ingredient Wonders. Bring a healthy vegan dish to share along with a note card listing your ingredients and your name.   Also, please bring your place setting.  A donation of $7 per adult is requested. Children are free.  For more information, call Harry at 860-623-8082 or email Harry at veggy...@aol.com.   Carniglia Senior Center, 41 Oak Street, Windsor Locks, CT, is the location for this event and free parking is available in the parking lot across the street.

December 14, Sunday, 5 PM - Northern Connecticut Vegetarian Society potluck will have Zaac Chaves as the speaker.  He is an uber-environmentalist known for his long-distance biking, freegan antics, wild mushroom knowledge, couch surfing, and home-made tire shoes.  He has bicycled down to Florida and up to Canada.   Zaac will be discussing long-distance riding on a vegan diet, and how it not only relates to other cruelty-free practices(such as those strategies outlined on freegan.info), but how these are all encompassing a single practice of both a cruelty-free and fufilling lifestyle.  This will be a discussion style presentation for all willing attendees to contribute to. Let's get him talking about his running for Districtu 36 State Senate seat on the Green Party.  Bring a healthy vegan dish to share along with a note card listing your ingredients and your name.   Also, please bring your place setting (plate, cup, and utensils).   A donation of $5 per adult is requested.  Children are free. For more information, call Harry at 860-623-8082 or email Harry at veggy...@aol.com.  Carniglia Senior Center, 41 Oak Street, Windsor Locks, CT, is the location for this event.

If you have any questions, please call me.

                                                Thanks,

                                                Harry Greenberg, Coordinator
