Subject: The March Peaceable Table is now online
In this issue:

*  The Editorial, "All Blessings Flow," explores further the concept
of ki mentioned in the February issue, and compares it to the Biblical
ideas of blessing and cursing.

*  In one of the Gems, Charles Darwin compares the enslavement of
animals with that of humans.

*  One of the NewsNote reports that legislation has been introduced in
California to ban the docking of cows' tails.

*  Letter-writer Bob Collins tells that he has long been using the
"see it my way" approach of aikido in his family counseling work.

*  One of the two Glimpses of the Peaceable Kingdom links us to the
story of a rescued greyhound who has become the foster-mother-in-
residence at a British shelter.

*  Animals Make Us Human, the most recent book by Temple Grandin, is
given an ambivalent review.

*  In one of the Recipes, fresh parsley is the key to a delectable
scrambled tofu dish.

*  Ben De Vries, this month's Pilgrim, tells how in adulthood his mind
and heart have re-awakened  to the "aminals" he so loved as a child.

*  The March Pioneer is Neville Fowler, a Welsh agronomist who
rejected the killing and eating of animals in 1958, when he was 19,
with no guidance but that of his own heart.  In retirement he has
founded the organization HIPPO to promote plant-based agriculture in
developing countries, especially in Africa.

*  The Poetry selection, "The Milan Bird-Cages," introduces children
to Leonardo da Vinci's purchase of birds in the market in order to
free them.
