  No, that is not a true statement. A wine can be vegan, and still contain &lt;br&gt; added sulfites. Please read the back of the label to determine if a wine &lt;br&gt; contains sulfites as it is required by law to be on the label.   No. Most organic wines don&#39;t have added sulfites, but it is a naturally &lt;br&gt; occurring process. Not an animal product anyway.

  I was told by an employee at a very large wine store that all wines have sulfites.   Vegan red wines for me so far have been disastrous. I wouldn&#39;t recommend &lt;br&gt; &#39;Our Daily Red&#39; - tastes like a cheap cooking wine... Supposidly the egg &lt;br&gt; whites used are trace, maybe it is worth taking a chance on non-vegan &lt;br&gt; wines.

  Shaynie and Group: &lt;br&gt; Thank you, Shaynie, for the clarification of the &amp;quot;clarification issue&amp;quot; on Kosher wines for Vegans.  Rather than my initial missive stating Kosher wines are vegetarian, I should have said that Kosher wines are typically vegegarian. &lt;br&gt;   &lt;br&gt; Kosher winemakers today typically use bentonite (clay) for fining rather than deal with kashrut certification issues of whether exclusively kosher ground fish/animals were used by vinters&#39; suppliers of isinglass or gelatin.  Although egg whites may be used in clarification of Kosher wine, (OK for lacto-ovo vegetarians but unfit for vegans), the likelihood is that today&#39;s Kosher wine producers clarify with bentonite, making it fit for vegans also.

  Roz, Hi! Now that I have to know (have acquired a severe egg allergy), it &lt;br&gt; turns out that winemakers use egg whites to fine (clarify) wines. Some &lt;br&gt; vineyards do it to the reds only, some the whites only, some both. Vegan &lt;br&gt; wines don&#39;t fine with egg whites. Kosher wines, according to people in this
