Wow, Veganism. That’s all I could say when people told me of this crazy lifestyle that sounded even tougher than vegetarianism. I’d tried vegetarian living a couple of times, and once it actually lasted a whole week for me before I hit the land of cheeseburgers again. It’s a tough choice, with an even tougher follow-through. But now I’ve made the decision to do it for real, and hopefully help others as I learn how it’s done. Let me be the first to say that I probably have no idea what I’m getting into here, but as I research and learn, I’ll pass that information on to you. If you ever catch me saying something you disagree with, or know to be wrong, LET ME KNOW! You’ve probably been doing this a lot longer than I have. I’m a brand-new “Veggie,” and I’m bound to get something wrong at some point. So what is The Vegan Bulletin? I’m a blogger, that’s what I do. You can find links to some of my other sites elsewhere on the page. Once I decided to try this major lifestyle change, it seemed only natural to me to write about it. As I said above, I’ve tried to go vegetarian in the past and failed miserably. By writing for an audience, there’s real pressure there not to mess up. Hey, we all do what we have to do to support the choices we make, and fear of looking like a cheater or a hypocrite works for me. So anyway, I’m going to handle this blog like some of my others; every weekday I send out an article by email to the subscribers on the list. I’ll also post the same info to the blog, and once a week release an audio show in MP3 format (a.k.a. “Podcast”). On the top right-hand corner of this site is a place to enter your email address; fill it in for the completely free daily mail. There will be NO spam, just “food-related” content as I’ve described here. If you use RSS, then there’s a link up there for that too. Every weekday will be a short article or tip that I’ve learned that relates to Vegetarians and Vegans. Yes, there is a difference between the two, and I’ll explain that tomorrow. However, be aware that my tips here will be aimed towards BOTH groups. I chose the name “Vegan Bulletin” simply because it’s shorter to type and spell. The site is for both groups, and whenever an article applies to only one of the two groups, I will point that out. I suspect most of what I cover will apply to both. So sign up for the mailing list or subscribe via RSS, and come along with me as I explore the meatless world.
