Subject: bugs & questions

Hi Niels and everybody,

I have a few questions about veejay and reloaded to ask

I'm looking for to assign midi keys to the timeline slidebar and the
opacity fader. Can't get this all to work because of bugs and/or
unsupported feature maybe.
My hardware midi layout is a BCF2000 that does plain midi to a M-audio
24/96.

1/ Reloaded hangs when midi learned a CC for the opacity fader and it hangs
right when I stroke the involved CC.

2/ Is the slidebar midifiable with a CC ? I mean, is it possible to move
the edges of a sample, which is usally done with left and right click.
With a standard midi learn operation, it does not work. Is it a feature
anyway ?

3/ I have veejay installed on a ubuntu desktop and another laptop running
debian stable and latest veejay too.
The button browsing/refreshing the working directory does not work under
ubuntu, it does under debian.

Subject: Re: bugs & questions

Hi Guillaume,

Thanks for the bug reports! I have pushed some fixes to the repository that
should fix the bugs you discovered

However, since I don't have a MIDI device its a bit troublesome to test all
the MIDI features; For testing, I use a virtual midi keyboard. But it
should be possible to assign VIMS events like set speed, set frame , chain
opacity etc. to a midi slider

Cheers,
Niels

Hi Niels & all,

Thanks for helping with this !! :)
About the opacity chain, I have another bug :
when I midilearn, usally in reloaded I can see sort of message acknowledge
like 'midi xxx->xx learned', I did not see this message when midilearning
opacity chain.
Learning this key seems to work fine anyway:
*guilux@rtg:~/Vidéos$ cat Vidéos/opac.midi
010026 1 loglinear "356:0"*

reloading this file and hitting the CC gives another trace :

*guilux@rtg:~/Vidéos$ reloaded -p 3490 -h localhost
