Hey there everybody,

First off, if you're receiving this e-mail that means you are on the
Vancouver Transit Camp list - I would like to repurpose this as a
Vancouver Transit Camp organizers' list. You are definitely welcome to
stick around even if you're not interested in organizing, but I'm
definitely hoping for much more activity than what we've had in the
past, so now might be a good time to go to digest e-mails if you're
concerned about mail volume.

Also, I would like to ask that if you are still interested in a
TransitCamp in Vancouver, please express your interest by signing up
at this page:
http://www.barcamp.org/VancouverTransitCamp

...as either an organizer or attendee, and maybe state what you are
interested in seeing at TransitCamp.

Next: *when* would we like to do this? Any dates particularly bad for
anyone? I'm thinking maybe second week of December because I'd like to
be done my papers :), and I don't think it will run into too many
issues with Christmas parties and holidays if it's early enough.
Thoughts?

This is my first time doing a BarCamp, so I'm hitting the n00b
resources at barcamp.org. Anyone else have experience organizing,
volunteering, or attending, who want to share your things you like
about it, or things you'd like to see at TransitCamp?

Here's a vote for before Christmas. I'd really like to see it happen as soon as possible, and definitely before the new year.

OK. How's December 8th or 9th? Weekends will make it easier for there
to be a full day, say anywhere from 3 to 5 slots for sessions. Any
preferences for Sunday or Saturday?

I would think that Saturday would be a better day for everyone's overall energy level, just because I usually associate Sunday with the lazy day. But either one works.
