Hi Guys,

Loving the site. I'm just getting up and running and learning my way around.

I'm finding the DWG format really hard to work with. Any chance we could get a more open format for the DEM data?
Would it make sense to have it as a compressed geo-tiff or something else that we can load easily into GRASS or qgis?

If not I'd love to hear if anyone has a workflow for using only opensource tools to get from DWG to something else.

Cheers,

Matt

I believe gdal’s ogr2ogr will convert from dxf to pretty much any format

Sweet! thanks. I've been using the gdal tools for a while but I've never tried ogr2ogr. The man page seems a litle sparse on specifics.

Still it's a good start

Thanks,

Matt
