good cheap place for a wash & dry?

I like to treat myself to a simple wash & dry (my arms aren't strong
enough to hold up the hair dryer for the length of time it takes to
rollar-brush dry my hair). The place I am going to is $20 plus taxes
and tip (so $25).

I like to get my hair done at least once a week, as a treat - but
can't afford $25 every week! I was hoping I could find an even more
inexpensive place so I can afford it and still treat myself.

Any suggestions? I live at 4th & Granville so something close would
be nice.

Thanks!
Katherine

Do they not still make/sell those sit-down hair dryers? (they look like
lampshades that you sit under) Then you could sit comfortably for the length of
time needed to dry your hair. . .

Look up Hairdressing Schools in the yellow pages (I don't have a Vancouver book
here, or I would've); they usually give a good price on services (about half of
regular salons)
