1. Attention all 7th and 8th grade girls interested in trying out for
cheerleading for the basketball season. You must attend the
informational meeting on Thursday, Nov. 19th. It will be held from 3
to 3:45 and you can take the late bus home. Any questions, see Mrs.
Marinaccio in room 107.

2. Dear Parents,
Guidance is starting a lunch group for those students who are new to
Van Wyck. If your child is new to this building and you would like
them to join a group that would help them feel more comfortable at
their new school, meet and make new friends, and have a safe place to
share their excitement and/or apprehensions about their new
environment, please contact Mrs. Smith at 227-1700 X 110.

3. School Picture Retakes

LifeTouch will be here on November 20th for School Picture Retakes and
Make-ups. If you received your picture package and need to have them
retaken, you must bring in the entire packet on November 20th.
LifeTouch will be set up outside the cafeteria and you can have them
retaken during your lunch period. If you were absent on the original
picture day or have come to the school since September 23rd, please
contact the Main Office for a flyer/payment envelope and/or head to
the LifeTouch camera during your lunch period. All student need to
have their pictures taken by LifeTouch in order to be in the yearbook.
6th graders who eat lunch 8th period will have to come down before
early dismissal that day.


4. 6TH GRADE GIRLS WEIGHT TRAINING WILL MEET TODAY IN THE GYM.

5. 6th grade chorus meets today for all band students. Please bring
your music.

Attention new chorus members - anyone interested in joining chorus
should sign up outside the 6th grade music room and bring a note from
home to Mrs. Morelli. Open registration will be for a limited time,
so join today.

6. INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL for 6th Grade Boys and Girls Begins Tuesday,
Nov. 10 and will meet on Nov. 12, 17& 18

OPEN TO SIXTH GRADE BOYS AND GIRLS ONLY!

It will be from 2:50-4:00

If you are taking the activity bus home, you must be in the lobby by
3:55. If a parent or guardian is picking you up, they need to be here
at that time or you will be asked to board the bus.

7. INTRAMURAL WEIGHT TRAINING FOR 6th GRADE GIRLS

On Thursday, November 12 there will be an introductory meeting for
weight training. This is an important meeting as I will be explaining
rules, expectations and some techniques. Intramurals will begin on
Tuesday, November 17 and continue until the winter recess. If we have
the numbers, there will be two different sessions. We will meet on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Because of the safety issue
involved you MUST be recommended to this program. It is not for
everyone. Please have the bottom part of this sheet signed by both
your Phys. Ed. Teacher and your parent or guardian. You should turn
this in to Mrs. Langert as soon as possible as the numbers will be
