1. Friday, the boys soccer team won their match against Arlington MS
5 to 1. It was an excellent team effort. Our next game is home
tomorrow vs. Poughkeepsie. Come support the team.

2. Any girl interested in trying out for Apex Club volleyball, please
see Miss Holzman in room 118. Tryouts begin Nov. 1st at Casperkill
Country Club. Info. pamphlets can be found in the main office.

3. The girls field hockey team beat Lagrange on Friday 2 to 0. Great
team defensive effort. Come support the girls tonight when they take
on Arlington at home.

5. The John Jay Lady Patriot Basketball Team will be holding a
beginning of the season clinic to help prepare girls in 4th through
9th grade for their upcoming school and CYO basketball tryouts. The
clinic will be held on Saturday November 7th from 10 to 2. For more
information please contact Mr.Brooks at 227-1700 x 102 or
Lawrence.brooks @ wappingersschools.org. Registration will be on a
first come, first serve basis!

6. There will be a large box in the main office for our annual coat
drive to benefit Dutchess Outreach. We will be collecting the coats
during the month of October. All coats and jackets and welcomed and
children's and plus sizes are urgently needed.

7. Hey 7th grade girls! There is a program just for you. Friends,
food, fun, crafts, workshops and girl talks. You are invited to
register for a special day at Dutchess Community College. Live Your
Dream Girls' Conference is Nov. 7th. If you didn't receive a pre-
registration form, pick one up in the main office. Last day to
register is Nov. 2nd.

8. Box Tops For Education Homeroom Contest. The last date for the
first homeroom contest is Fri., Oct. 23rd. The homeroom that collects
the most valid ones gets treated to breakfast. Each boxtop coupon is
worth 10 cents for our school which helps fund the various programs
run by the PTA. Thank you for taking the time to make a difference
for your school.
