The report has this to say about value networks:
New social network analysis tools make structural relationships more
transparent and help management understand hierarchies and social
networks. These tools also help management strike the right balance
between hierarchy and flatness to optimize for value creation rather
than leave it to chance.
Verna Allee and Oliver Schwabe contributed to the report. Read more -
in two blogs - at http://valuenetworks.com/public/blog/207591.
Also, it would be unlikely if many a wry smile did not show on the
faces of contributors here, as they recognised that many of the views
expressed in the report were not at some time also aired here.
Personally, I like the use of a suspension bridge in one of the
illustrations. Can't quite make out, though, what is swimming in the
river below!

Civil engineers have a regard for sound foundations, which can be
translated into *defensible positions.*
Value networks provide a defensible starting point for exploring many
avenues and opening up exciting and rewarding journeys.
May many more enjoy the experience in the next decade.
