Are you interested in Behaviour Change and Persuasive Technology? There is a free seminar by Professor Icek Ajzen on 23 April. 

One of the world’s leading behavioural psychologists – Professor Icek Ajzen from the University of Massachusetts - is visiting Australia for the first time to talk about contemporary behaviour change research and practice. This is your opportunity to hear him speak and learn from the author of one of the most widely used and cited models of human behaviour in the social and behavioural sciences.

Thanks Irith. Can I just add my two cents here? 

As a recent Psychology graduate, I can say that this guy is as legendary as they come in Psychology. His theory of behavioural change is more widely recognised than any other psychological theory out there (and there are a lot of them). In other words, in over 100 years of psychological science, this is as close as anyone has come in discovering a general theory of human behaviour! 

I believe it would be very useful for anyone involved in UX. The model is not hard to understand, and its implications for how we design interactions and the like are potentially far-reaching. This will be incredibly popular in organisational and academic psych circles, as well as policy and marketing circles, so it will probably book out quickly. So get in quick if you're interested, I say.

OK, the seminar finishes at 6.30. I suggest we go to Hu Tong for Dumplings afterwards, that way people can eat as little or as much as they'd like. It's BYO too. (They also do non-dumpling dishes....)
