Website Communications Supervisor
Marketing Department
Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for
developing and supporting the continued growth of the TTC website by
planning and implementing web based communications and online
marketing initiatives, maintaining website accessibility, usability
and the web content management system. You will also be responsible
for the development of new web designs and programs as well as write
and edit copy for
ttc.ca and its micro-sites.
Your duties will include
working closely with the Marketing Director and other internal teams
to ensure the seamless transition of organization-wide initiatives
from print to online communications and develop opportunities for
online strategies;
collaborating with the Marketing Director on the ongoing management of
the TTC website including the continual evolution of functionality and
content;
identifying, planning and implementing web based communications in
support of the section’s overall communication efforts;
executing e-communications by writing, editing targeting,
broadcasting, analyzing and reporting on content;
resolving any issues related to online communications with the help
and support of the Marketing Director;
researching and identifying or developing new products, platforms,
tools and processes to enhance current services or to deliver new
services;
organizing, updating and maintaining the content infrastructure on the
Toronto Transit Commission website and micro-site(s);
monitoring web performance, identifying and executing enhancements,
and generating statistical reporting and conduct analysis.

dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with
disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (if applicable and
within their area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario
Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit
from the TTC as a service-provider and an employer.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience
You have extensive experience in web content management, development,
metrics, data analysis, traditional design, advertising theory and
production.
You also possess extensive experience in conducting and analyzing web
usability and accessibility studies, search engine optimization, the
functionality of database design, operation, setup and customization
of content management systems.
You have the ability to hand-code standards-based, semantic XHTML and
CSS, JavaScript and AJAX.
Experience in unit testing for cross-browser and cross-platform,
knowledge of and experience developing within content management
systems and experience using image editing software such as Adobe
Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Fireworks is also a
requirement.
Experience with JSP, XML, Flash and Action Script are an asset.
These skills and knowledge would normally be acquired through the
completion of a University degree in a relevant discipline combined
with a minimum five years of directly related experience in managing,
developing and maintaining web content and structure. Must have or
rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights
Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and
accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
