Can anyone shine some light on what the blind test might be testing
that I'm not doing right?
I've checked every kind of edge/special case I can think of and
compared it with binasm, and it seems to match.

I used beq $0, $0, -0x1 to test it.

You have to catch the exception and output ERROR to stderr.
