Hey Indies,

Okay, its time once again to announce another Utah Indie Games Night.
It will be held in three weeks on Tuesday May 29th at 7pm at the
Ninjabee Offices in Orem. Again a big thanks to them for hosting this
event. Their address is:

240 N. Orem Blvd, Orem, UT

Here's a Google Maps link to it
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=+240+N+Orem+Blvd,+Orem,+UT

They have a big Wahoo sign on the front door, and we'll be meeting
downstairs in the building.

The format will be the usual informal get together to chat, eat
refreshments, talk about the industry, see what others are doing, show
off your current project and get feedback, etc.

We'll start the evening off with a formal presentation from the
Ninjabee guys on their last Game-In-A-Day event, and then we'll break
out into smaller groups for some game demos. If you have a demo to
show, please let me know before hand, so we can plan on it better.
Also, if you have any other questions, suggestions, announcements, or
something you think that would benefit the group, please let me know.
This is shaping up to be another outstanding and enjoyable night for
everyone. I hope to see everyone there!

Sincerely,

Greg Squire
Utah Indie Games Coordinator

BTW, you might want to keep the evening of May 31st open on your
calendar for another indie related event. More to come on that later.

P.S. I want to remind everyone about the showing of "Indie Game: The Movie" this Thursday night (the 31st). I hope you have your tickets in hand to the event as all the tickets have been given out. I also want to do a special shout out and thank you to the sponsors of that event, ChAIR, Ninjabee, and Smart Bomb Interactive. Thanks for making this event possible!  Further, I want to remind everyone that Mike is putting together a bunch of trailers for indie games to be shown just before the movie, so if you have a short 30 second trailer of your game that you want shown, please send them to Mike Rubin (slcr...@gmail.com) by tonight (Tuesday night). See you all there!

Hey Indies,

We had an eventful indie games night last night. It was very inspiring.  We had just under 40 people in attendance at my last count, so it was a good turnout.  Quadruple Kudos go to Ninjabee this week, as they hosted Indie Game night, provided pizza for the event, did the presentation for the evening, and are sponsoring the movie showing tomorrow night!

Steve Taylor gave an awesome a presentation on doing a Game-In-A-Day (GIAD).  Steve has been a long time advocate for doing GIADs, and he had a lot of good things to say about the process.

BTW, if you have some suggestions for our group, I'd like to hear about them. I want to continue to make this event better and better.  Also, feel free to join in the discussions on our Google Groups site (http://www.utahindiegames.org) to post those suggestions or whatever you'd like for the group..

Our next Indie Night should be in July (stay tuned for more details). Hope to see you all then!

Sincerely,

Greg Squire
Utah Indie Games Coordinator

P.S. Just another quick reminder about the "Indie Game: The Movie" showing tomorrow night; 7:30 at Brewvies. (Sponsored by Chair, Ninjabee, and Smart Bomb Interactive)  Be sure to come early, as your ticket could go to those standing-by at 7:15.

Also someone left a grey hoodie jacket at the event last night.  If it's yours, please find me at the movie tomorrow and I can get you your jacket back. Or email me and we can work something out to get it to you.
