gentle stop

Dear Uspex users,

Is there a way top gently stop uspex? I know it is possible to restart uspex even after a crash, but a gentle way would be safer in any case.

Hello,

For a non-parallel mode calculation (0: variable whichCluster), USPEX would stop automatically until it reaches the any of the following criterions:

1: the maximum Number of Generations (*variable numGenerations)

2: stop criterion (*variable stopCrit)

the simulation is stopped if for stopCrit generations the best structure did not change, or when numGenerations have expired – whichever happens first.

Otherwise, it will continue. You can only stop the job by killing the matlab jobID.
