Is it possible to post a schedule where all of the slots are left
empty for ministers to volunteer for? I want to post a schedule
asking for volunteers to go to our church hall during 'coffee &
donut's socials after Mass.

Yes this is possible, however it needs to be done at the same time that you generate a new schedule.  I can not recall exactly where, but during the setup process for the schedule you will be asked if you want a specific extra day left unscheduled or filled.  You select unscheduled and it will show up as blank.  You do need to enter this as a special service (extra service).  Hope that helps some, I know how to do it, but it is tough to explain in words.

Dan,

When you commence scheduling, you can check the "All empty positions except for those in special services (yearly or one-time only)" checkbox. Click the Show More Options button to make it visible. As Jeff mentioned, you would need to have set up this service as a yearly or one-time only service to make it work.

I have also added a new service to an existing schedule.  To get people to fill the spots, I sent an email with the unfilled spots using a token in the email.  I just tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it worked quite well.  Most of my spots got filled.

Hello,

Another option to keep one or more services unscheduled:

On the schedule skeleton before you hit "Commence Scheduling" go to the day of the service you would like to be left unfilled, select that service and click on the "Edit Service" button.  In this dialog box where you can edit the parameters of that service time, there is an option at the bottom that says "Leave this service unfilled (don't auto-schedule)".  This way you can run the scheduler for all of your positions but it will omit those services for which this option is checked.

Best,
Mikki

Mikki,

I’m hoping this does not go out to the world.  I tried to insert the token in My Profile in the Web Terminal for CANNOT SERVE DATES for my winter launch and this error came up.  I’m not able to access our web terminal.  Do you know what the problem is.   I hope it hasn’t shut the entire WEB down for all our volunteers.

If you could help us I would appreciate it.
