So last meeting we started talking about ways to get the word out about our group. To help this, I created a Facebook page and a Google+ page. Obviously they are really simple at this point, but we can use them to let other people know about the group and get our numbers up.
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/usescala
Google+: https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/107725716732026295017/107725716732026295017

Another good resource is announcing the group at UJUG. It looks like their next meeting is this Thursday. Is anyone going that would be willing to announce the group? I also noticed that for February they have James Ward giving a presentation on the Java side of Play! I have to admit, I'm not familiar with him, but I guess he presented about Play! at JavaOne this last year. Also, if you know other people that you work with or otherwise that are interested in Scala, do let them know about the group.

Thanks for stepping up Jeff! We also have https://www.facebook.com/pages/Utah-Scala-Enthusiasts/173763302685250 though nothing much has been done with it.

Doh, my facebook search must have failed me as I did't find that before I created this one.

Thank you for getting that started Jeff.   Could we get the Facebook page and a Google+ page updated with the February meeting information?

It looks like we can just sign up using Google+  events?  Should we just use that instead?

Jeff - Would you mind putting the event description on the Google+ page?

Thanks,
Ryan
