Listening to the songs

Of the ocean.

The claps of the waters

Fascinates.

I am indifferent

To the putrefaction at home.

Of the Manor,

Brandishing

Our birth rights.

Let us bury the bully

Or die if we don't.

Woe will be upon virgins

Who will lock their labia

To the militarized marauders.

Her name is Chinyere

Or God's gift

If you love the language

Of the colonizers,

Today is her birthday.

She professes

Poetry with her heart,

I plagiarize

Her poetry with my pen,

She epitomizes love also.

She is my wife,

She is my mentor,

I am her mentee.

Yet,

She calls me "master"!
