On his well-earned Redeemer's University Award. 

The man who works all hours. 

A Spirit Force who is all places at once. 

The Magician who can do all life's tricks and many more  

Without the slightest sign of effort. 

A Friend, a presence always of light humour 

That goes deep and pure and humane. 

Particularly I remember 

Lagos, Ibadan and TOFAC 2012. 

His touch and presence was everywhere, 

In multiple roles.

A Mystic man of wonder.

We celebrate you dear friend. 

Please continue to live your "normal simple" life. 

Reminds me of a comment by "Father of the Bomb," Robert Oppenheimer, when giving the BBC Reith Lectures of 1953. He, for his efforts in saving the Western World, as we then knew it, was being crucified by the American people, via Sen McCarthy and the HUAC. Had the course of life gone slightly differently, he would have settled into his root loves, Sanskrit scholarship and poetry. And he was very good in both fields. 

Here's the bit.

A simple person indeed. 

One who personifies 

The very best in Value and Character 

That all us human folk can hope to achieve.

Please enjoy it all, my friend. There is no word to express how much you and your good works, humility and cheeky mischiefs are appreciated and recognised. Although you are my old enemy, I want to assure you that all the people who have sent you messages truly mean the letters and spirits of their congratulatory messages. We all love and appreciate YOU! I cannot thank USAAFRICADIALOGUE and Yoruba Affairs twin-family enough for your love, prayers and encouragement. So overwhelming that I blushed several times over. It is amazing and humbling to see, feel and know the extent of being genuinely loved by the best of good people and great minds like you. To be candid, I hardly felt noticed in my life, except now, through your individual encomium. I have always simply lived my normal life. So one can imagine the way I felt, and still feel, as I read through the chain of accolades! I am encouraged to do more for as long as I live, to the glory of God. 

May God, the Author of all good things, and bestows honor, be the center of your lives and homes! 

I thank the management of Redeemer's University for the Award, and I appreciate the University of Ibadan which made me the pioneer recipient of similar Award in the institution, in 2012. Thank you all.
