People, read the news piece below.

What exactly does Nigeria have to fight a any diplomatic row with the US?
Absolutely nothing.
The status of Nigeria as a nation state is an open book for all to see/read,
not to talk of what America already knows about Nigeria via its inviolable
intelligence machine.
If anything, Nigeria is probably indebted to the US on a lot of fronts,
ranging from whom among our vacuous political leaderships are corruption
kingpins, 419 barons, drug lords, spies for America, etc, etc.
Do we really have a comprehensive program to combat religious extremism,
even for our own safety?
I doubt it.
Not unless our satellites rented from and mounted on China/Russia technology
brought back climate data from space that also contained some information we
could use to fight religious intolerance and extremism!

Now, America is dictating to us which schools we keep open and which we
close.
Things are really warming up for us, as a country and as a people.
Very good.
Maybe the morons in charge of our nation would now realize that running a
country is a serious undertaking.
It is beyond looting, lawlessness, laziness, election rigging, and
self-destruct policies that promote looting, assassination, cultic and
fetish sacrifices, mass impoverishment and general underdevelopment.
Perhaps, changes might come sooner than we realize, and from the least
expected angle at that.

America should indeed call our bluff.
It is her war, and she's got the right to fight it any way she wants,
reasonably or unreasonably.
She could rope in any rouge nation she wishes at any time.
The Nigerian leaderships have got nothing underneath those trademark
colorful robes and tower caps.
Na so so braggadocio, boorishness and wads of stolen petrodollars under
there.
We've got only one-commodity economy that the US can shun anytime she wants.
We've got no real executive branch, only a warped legislative arm that reels
in banditry.
We've got nobody the US ambassador to Nigeria can talk to as equals, not to
talk of Obama.
We've got nothing to bargain with, diplomatically or politically.

America, dare us and tell us, if Nigeria doesn't like to be put on that
terror watch countries of interest list, she should go just right ahead and
do her worst.
That ought to settle the matter for good.

QS
PS: Kwabby, so you are now moonlighting as a bus driver, ehn? A whole you,
Mwalimu, joining our transportation industry in the diaspora? You bus
driver, and me taxicab driver? Aah....there is hope for Africa. Now you can
say it like it is. All the outrage against the US for daring to add Nigeria
on some terror country list is nothing but righteous indignation. All na
shakara. Aburo, cut out the sentimental pandering. Thou shall lie on thy
bed as though did lay it. Didn't the Bible say that, abi na the Akhan people
sef?

Washington is set to call Abuja’s bluff on a possible diplomatic row over
the administration’s decision to put the country on its terror watch
list.
Administration officials have ruled out reversing the action and dared
Nigeria to show evidence of a comprehensive plan to fight terror groups.
White House sources said President Barack Obama signed off on the plan based
on “preponderance of evidence that Nigeria has become a likely haven for
terror groups, like Al-Qaida”.

F.B.I sources said the decision by Washington to place Nigeria on its
terror watch list is a preventive measure to disrupt a likely attack on
the country.

Officials disclosed that reliable intelligence had concluded that terror
groups are likely to use Nigeria as a base for further attacks.
“For years, the C.I.A has documented evidence of Al-Qaida attempting to
recruit and gain foothold in Nigeria, and its security agencies did nothing
to confront the threat,” top Homeland Department officials stated.
“This is a security situation with the lives of Americans at risk. We are
not prepared to risk American lives just to satisfy Nigerian officials”
administration sources said.

Besides, the State Department said Nigeria knows what to do to get the
country off the watch list.”
There has to be a visible and verifiable evidence that Nigerian
authorities are improving security and intelligence gathering against not
just terror groups, but also extremists and fundamentalists, especially in
the northern part of the country,” State Department officials stated.
The White House also wants Nigeria to close Islamic schools that teach
and influence youths into religious extremism.

“We believe measures like these would be concrete evidence the country is
serious about fighting terror, rather than threatening the United States,”
officials said.

Zaki,

You are very right! Driving a bus has given me different perspectives on life in Africa as I learn from my passengers. A considerable number of my passengers think that Africa is still the "Dark Continent." But one thing is clear: most of my passengers to date are of the opinion that the US has given Nigeria the short end of the stick. I wish I could argue with my passengers, but the nature of bus-driving does not allow me to do that as much as could be wished. As soon as I obtain my taxi-driving certificate, I will make it my business to educate every passenger that comes on board.  The intimacy entailed in taxi-driving would afford me that opportunity as much as it has given you. In the meantime, I wish you well in the Diaspora Transportation Business. I remain your bus driver friend.

What has United States Of America(USA), as a rich and influential
nation done to advance world peace, except if it fails within the
prism of her national interests?, who in the first place provided
training and logistics for the formation of Al-qaeda? the CIA off
course.

Over the years USA and Britain, her closest alley have been supporting
a feudal aristocracy from a section of Nigeria to unjustly lord it
over other sections, even when progressive tendencies manage to spring
up like in 1993/1994, the national interests of USA and Britain have
always ensured that these tendencies are not given the much needed
support.

In the anti-corruption sphere, USA have not done enough to ensure that
funds stolen from Nigeria and stashed in her banks are repartriated.

It is a settled matter that the CIA know every detail of the Nigerian
President's near vegetable state, Can't the white house order CIA to
leak this information needed to effect constitutional change in the
Presidency to any of the various activist groups and/or the Nigerian
news media.

All these give birth to threats to World peace which includes
terrorism, the rave of the moment.

USA can fight her war on terror which ever way she deems fit, but
insincerity should not be allowed to reign. We are all guilty!

I can't agree more with you, Chidi. Most Nigerians from the South-East corner, will likely not accept the USA analysis that the Northern part of Nigeria is a breeding ground for terrorists, unless of course if terrorism is confined to acts of violence and intimidation directed against the USA and western interests. Terrorism is alive and well and has flourished in the South-East corner of Nigeria unchecked. The question is how long it will take for this to spread to every other state in the federation and the country becomes another Somalia.

Chidi,
I disagree with some of your totalizing assumptions. Granted that some of your thesis are true, but why should the USA and Britain be fighting for your own interest, when you and other Nigerians stand hands akimbo and lean on them to fight on your behalf. No one jump into a fray once one's interests are not at stake. Secondly, this logic of overt dependency on the west- U.S., Britain, and other western nations to do for Nigeria and Nigerians what Nigerians refuse to do for themselves is appalling and a very short circuited, if not dangerous logic. Thirdly, I do not see how the U.S CIA not releasing information to effect change in your Nigerian presidency, has anything to do with world peace. It is the failure of the Nigerian state, citizens, and a despicable sign that the nation called Nigeria is as ailing as its absentee president that is more dangerous for world peace, than the failure of any government to be sharing "you should know" intelligence. What prevents our media and journalists to present the Nigerian people with the facts regarding the president's illness. One can trust that if such scenario does happen Times, New York Time, Washington Post, Newsweek will get to the root of the matter and present the facts to the world. These media have done such journalism even in the most dangerous of situations where you think such news would be out of reach. The descent of Nigeria is a problematic of joint collaboration and the collusion between the different layers and hierarchies of hegemony to present falsehood and outright misrepresent to the Nigerian public the fact of the matter. Else, some group of Nigerians go forge the President's signature and present it as signing a budget. Is the affairs of government such a joke?
If we turn the most serious affairs of state to a joke others have surely alerted us that they will continue to jokingly turn us and our national interests into a joke- one that has effect and impact. Nigerians political actors are too lukewarm, inept, and too loquacious to think so seriously about making significant transformation. All their interests is about mapping strategies to unlynch mayhem on the Nigerian populace by their onslaught of thievery and transjection into a live of despicable poverty. There should be something better. Don't blame the west for the problems we have cause with our own hands and shortsightedness. Let's learn to deal with our issues and leave the Americans, Britains, CIA, and whatever out of these challenging issues. Let us not add more to the flaming jokes!

Tony,
I did not and will not expect any foreign nation, the US included to
come down to Nigeria to solve our problems. I however expect US and
her allies to offer progressive tendecies in Nigeria "the much needed
support"(my exact word), like they did to the founder of Al-qaeda when
their relationship was rosy.

As to information about Nigerian President's health, well, I have to
tell you here that in the world of news information management to
which I also belong, monkeys can only be smart when trees are close to
each other.

Warm regards,

Nigeria can continue to protest vehemently about Nigeria, an
important ally, being on that list.
I don't know what his Rev. Jeremiah Wright thinks about his CHANGE
these days " But the enemy I see wears a cloak of decency" and the
time will soon come when Obama who apparently can't see round corners
will SEE what I mean:
