Description: Facilities Engineer: • Strategically plans and reviews UPS and HVAC systems and drawings with consultants and Facilities Engineering Manager (FEM) and VP of Facilities. • Investigates all issues in tandem with the Facilities department, follows up on issue resolution and interfaces with customers for purposes of quality control and documentation, maintain statistical documentation using TQM and/or six sigma methodologies • Responds to mechanical and electrical critical system emergencies on a 24 by 7 basis: investigates problems, with manager approval implements contingency plans if necessary, contacts appropriate vendor(s), oversees remediation, and assures problem resolution. • Oversees preventive maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, manages outside contractors and vendors and insures compliance with written contracts. • Reviews and recommends critical construction process: reviews blueprints with general contractors for budgeting; facilitates and tracks all documentation required by building management and for building permits; oversees and regulates internal documentation of projects; reports on project progress to Facilities and Design & Construction. • Supervises daily construction activities; ensures compliance with design, budget, and schedules; administers meetings with contractors, facility and technical representatives to coordinate these activities with Facilities Engineering Manager. • Completes related special projects or additional duties as required by Facilities Engineer Manager and/or VP of Facilities. (Administrative Functions) • Stays informed of the status of UPS and HVAC projects through all phases of the construction process. • Responds to and documents environmental complaints and issues on a daily basis. • Disseminates construction scheduling and price information to Facilities and other relevant parties; when required, provides construction and budgeting information to manager. • Creates capital requisitions for projects and monitors payment of HVAC construction-related invoices through the Accounting Department; relays payment information to vendors as required. • Maintain accurate database for critical systems and facilities and produce reports on equipment/systems as necessary.
Requirements: A Bachelors Degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Candidates must possess expertise in complex UPS and HVAC systems; maintenance and trouble shooting, construction processes and management; local filing procedures; proficiency with project management and spreadsheet software.
