Description: Production Support Developer
Responsible for all of the programming required to fix production errors in both software applications. Also responsible for peripheral programs such as the QC log and Exporter applications.
Responsible for all short-term enhancements to software applications. Also responsible for peripheral programs such as the QC log and Exporter application enhancements. These include all custom requests that are of development duration of less than 10 hours.
Work closely with the software architect to design and develop solutions for defects and enhancements.
Support the helpdesk in determining the nature of any reported problems and make recommendations for any necessary code changes to development manager.
Document all code changes related to software defects in the helpdesk software. Documentation will include a description of the problem and the steps and/or code changes to resolve the issue short term and long term. Responsible for adding to the helpdesk knowledge base as applicable and according to current guidelines.
Responsible for documentation for all enhancements to any software including requirements, specifications and any schema changes. All documentation will be kept on the SharePoint project list site currently in use in development.
Provide testing documents for QA with requirements, test plans and expected results.
Responsible for implementation to production using the deployment task list on the SharePoint site as it applies to those short-term projects. In support of the deployment of production releases, it may be necessary to be available either off or on site during non-working hours. Although this should be minimal, remote access and availability would be required.
Coordinate all implementations with QA and IT as necessary to promote the software into production.
Coordinate with current development staff all changes to software for defect correction or custom enhancements.
Coordinate with the IT department for deployments to QA and production environments.
Communicate any security concerns or connection changes to the IT department.
