So I started working at MoneyDesktop about a month ago and I love it.
It is Hands down the best place I have worked. I feel like I am
walking on sunshine every day I come to work (more on this later).

First: There is a ton of demand for developers out there. You have to
beat the recruiters away with a stick. AmIRight? So if you  are not as
happy as you would like to be just know there are a lot of options out
there. Take a chance, make a change and see how happy you can be!

Second: It just so happens that we growing like mad and looking for
new talent. But hey so is everyone else, right? So this is what I
propose: Everyone that loves their job, post here with why your place
of employ is the best Evar!

Here's mine:
I Love MD because they:

1. Love Ruby - I love the ruby culture and MD fully embraces it! To me
this is testing, joy, productivity, simplicity, elegance,
sustainability. They were a sponsor of MWRC. The Gold Sponsor infact!
They put their money where their mouth is.

2. Unit test - There is full business support for testing. This is the
first place I've worked where I didn't have to fight with the business
side to write tests. It feels awesome to know that we have decent
coverage (and that coverage is getting better). Unit testing help keep
code clean and tight.

3 Focus - At other places I've worked agility meant short attention
span. It meant starting lots of initiatives and not finishing them.
Here it means focusing, keeping code light so we can pivot. It means
picking something, getting it right before picking up something else.
It means reducing chaos and increasing reliability. It means everyday
my life gets better not worse.

4 Simplicity/Sustainability - They want maintainable code. Really.
Lots of effort goes into refactoring and keeping things clean. I was
able to contribute in the first few days of hire because of clean
independent code.

5 Leave Me Alone - No one is allowed to bother the devs(pretty much).
Constant interruptions are a thing of the past! Concentrate and get
stuff done!

6 Help Me Out - lots of smart people to get backup from.

7 Daily Standups - You can't get too far off track and waste dev
effort. Keeps everyone focused because of the daily accountability. It
means that you also have a daily time to get help and communicate. It
keeps coordinated and moving as a team.

8 Passion - Everyone here loves Ruby and productivity. It makes it a
happy place to work! And it makes things get done. http://moneydesktop.com/company/team

9 Lunch twice a week - tasty, tasty stuff. Doesn't hurt.

10 Growth - We've partnered with some major industry players like
Visa. You may have heard of them.

* Stock Options - This is the first place I've worked where I thought
that my options would really be worth something some day. We've won
best of show at 2 recent industry conferences. So we're kind of a big
deal.

Money Desktop was an incredible boost to my quality of life. I was
bouncing off the walls the first week. I'm still a more than a little
exuberant. Is that what it is like where you work? Shouldn't it be?
So if you want a quality of life raise, go get it!

If you think your company is even better tell us why! (but once you
post be warned we're gonna implement whatever is awesome where you
work):

If you think this sounds like paradise and you want in, let this guy
know: Brandon<dot>Dewitt<at>moneydesktop<dot>com
