Hi All,

Forgive me if this has already been addressed somewhere in the group.
If it has, maybe someone can point me to the answer.

We are trying to create a rule that will send the user to <to>URL</to>
but retain the <from>URL</from> address. So if the from address is
http://www.someaddress.com/thispath and the to address is http://to.someaddress.com/
the behavior should be that the user is taken to http://to.someaddress.com
but the browser address still shows as the original url
http://www.someaddress.com/thispath.

Regards,

Hi Avlesh,

Thanks for the response.

Having looked at the other post, still not too clear on whether that
would answer the question we're trying to resolve. It seem that the
other person was more interested on how to retrieve the original URL
once redirected and not so much in keeping the original url displayed
in the browser's address bar. Please let me know if I've missed
something.

Regards,
C.R.C.

My bad. I was too quick to respond.

Forwarding requests across contexts is not possible. This essentially means that the only way to rewrite from "somedomain.com/some-url" to "some.otherdomain.com/some-other-url" is to redirect, thereby changing the URL in browser's address bar. Internal forwarding via rewrites can only be done in the same contexts.

Cheers
Avlesh

That said, you might want to add a type="proxy" attribute in the <to> of your rule to see if it works for you.

Cheers
