ABOUT THIS WEBINAR

Keep America Beautiful and the US Composting Council are partnering to bring you a series of webinars. The first webinar will be about the beneficial use of compost. The second session will be about how to compost and the third webinar will be for those wanting to learn about vermicomposting.

In the first webinar, we'll talk about "compost the noun," as it's been stated by the US Composting Council. You'll learn the benefits of adding compost to soil. You'll also review the variety of applications for compost in the landscape including topsoil manufacturing, turf topdressing, backfill mixes, erosion control, and more. The US Compost Council's Seal of Testing Assurance Program will also be briefly explained along with common market segments.

PRESENTERS

David Crohn, Ph.D. Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences, University of California, Riverside. Dr. Crohn will provide an overview of the variety of agronomic benefits derived from using compost. He will describe the physical, chemical and biological benefits of the products that you either are, or will be producing, so that you know what your compost has to offer to prospective users.

Al Rattie, US Composting Council Market Development & STA Program Manager. Mr. Rattie will explain the various uses for your compost and the most common market segments that are using compost now. He will also briefly describe the USCC's STA Program
