Swift Water Class

Hi all,

Due to high water, we had to cancel last weekend's Swift Water Rescue class taught by Kenny and Sandrine.  We are rescheduling it for this weekend,: Saturday and Sunday.  We plan to use Dickerson on Saturday and the Feeder Canal on Sunday. Approximate times are 7:30- 5:30 Saturday and 8-5:30 Sunday.  There are three spaces available.  Cost is $200.  Let me know if you are interested.

Hey LAKS family,

I wish I wasn't going with missing UY training, this high water & great weather!!

Hope to run some cool rivers, out there and get up into the Himalayas, wish you were all going with me!

The Trisuli is a good day trip from Kathmandu, good Class 3, also it follows the highway so its easy access. The Kali Gandaki is a good 4 day Trip based out of Pohkara (class 4). The You should be able to sign up with an outfitter in Kathmandu to provide equipment etc. It is great paddling there, but if/when things go bad it can be a long time to get medical care if you are out in the sticks (like 2-3 days). I think the Kayaking season is coming to a close there.

Thanks for the advice, those are the 2 initial rivers on my list!!! Do you need a dry to or shorty wet suit, this time of year? I didn't paddle when I last was there!!
