Hi,

It would be nice if there was a listing of the people who speak on
behalf of the Standing Rules Committee. It would help those new to
the group who are reading archived discussions and seeing disputes
between people, but do not know who is speaking in an official
capacity.

I searched the website and group archives for a membership list for
the SRC, but was unable to find one. The blog lists 5 contributors,
but I wasn't sure if that is comprehensive. It also hasn't been
updated in a couple years.

Thanks,

Matt

There's a "credits" list in the back of the 11th edition. For the most
part, I think the members are relatively consistent, although a small
number (2-3?) are inactive or no longer members.

Be careful though considering any of us to be speaking in official
capacities... while for the most part we 'should' know what we're
talking about, in some cases our comments may still be personal
impressions, rather than speaking for the group or the UPA.

Although having said that, I'm sure that we all attempt to not say
things that contradict what the rest would say, but sometimes opinions
are different than the other members' opinions may be on the same
topic. It all depends on what's being asked and said.

If you ever need to be 100% sure that what you're hearing is the
official word on behalf of the UPA or the SRC, then it's probably best
to go through the Chair of the SRC. For example, you're engraving
something on titanium and shooting it off into space to spread the
word to other worlds and civilizations and it absolutely needs to be
fully correct.

How's that?

Thanks for the pointer! For those who don't have a hard copy, the PDF
has it (HTML version doesn't):

Yeah, no problem! I guess I just wanted to lend a little more weight
to the opinions of those who drafted the rules and are likely to draft
any future clarifications to the rules. :)
