Hello there,

We've just joined this group. I'm the soon-to-be stepmama in
Tennessee living with two boys (well, 3 boys including their dad), and
occasionally one girl, plus 7 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 fish! It looks like
a long post may be necessary to explain us. ;)

There are two boys and two girls. One girl (13) is autistic and
currently living in Atlanta, GA at a residential hospital for her
psychosis. She will be living with her mother once she is diagnosed
ready to return home. The other girl (5) is now with her mama full-
time going the school she works at, but she stays with us on
weekends. The boys (9 and 7) stay with their dad and go to school
here. I have known this family for years as the babysitter, and
eventually, the nanny. I guess the big guy figured out that I'd be
good for them, and it pretty much came to pass that we are in love and
have always been.

But I never agreed with the parenting method between him and his
previous wife. He knew this. However, I ended up becoming the Evil
Stepmama from Hell by following the easy path of compulsion and
disrespect that they had been traveling for awhile. It took a big
news (FoxNews) to remind me of my original goals, and this family
(really, the 2 boys, Steven, and I - so Family of 4) has been trying
to walk on a path less traveled for about two weeks now.

We'll need all the support we can! My concern is fully unschooling. I
mean, we are becoming much more open and trusting and respectful at
home. They are encouraged to eat where/when they want, play where/
when they want, and such. But they are in school and they are
miserable! It's really not my place to decide their education even
though a lot of their education is up to their father (my fiance) and
their grandparents. The battle would lay squarely upon the mother,
especially since she is a teacher.

Wow, thank you for reading this far. I truly hope this wasn't too
long of a post. We are looking forward to becoming part of a
community and learning all the options for ourselves.

~ Love and Joy,
Kay & Steven
+ Reese (9) & Jared (7).
+ Teena (13) & Tori (5).
+ 7 dogs, 1 cat, & 1 fish.

Depending how the custody ruling is worded and how the laws are where
you are, you might have very few options.

You'll need to get input from people in your state, and also to check
the wording of the ruling, as it's an interstate divorce.
