November Meeting canceled. UNRC Nominations & Elections

Hello Neighbors, 

In favor of an important town hall forum on violent crime (click link for details: http://goo.gl/Mj62n), we will be canceling the November UNRC meeting.

However, we do have important business to attend to.  End of the year elections for several UNRC positions are open.

Those posts (and who currently holds the position) are:

• Vice-President  (<VACANT>)
• Secretary (Michelle Mills)
• Corridors (Jeff Gamboni)
• Parks & Open Spaces (Ashley Lee)

As per the bylaws: "Section Two – ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND TEAM LEADERS

Candidates for officers and team leaders shall be submitted by the Nominating Committee three (3) weeks prior to the regular December meeting.  The candidate slate will be announced by email via the December meeting notice two (2) weeks prior to the December meeting.  The slate shall be presented to the membership during the December meeting for vote.  Nominations for officers or team leaders may also be made from the floor by any qualified member.  A majority vote of the qualified members present is required for election except as previously stated regarding an exception to the locality rule."

I am designating the following nomination committee:

• Emily Ballus
• Tiffany Precissi
• Rhondda Nunes

Please feel free to nominate anyone who might be willing to serve our neighborhood (including yourself).  I strongly urge everyone to consider the Vice-President position.  I know I could use some assistance.  To nominate someone via email, please send your nomination to univer...@gmail.com.

Our December meeting will be on Dec 13th @ 6PM.

We will be starting with elections and brief business, then a pot luck social hour.

Also available is Programs (Joy Neas).  Joy has announced she will not be continuing with the UNRC board, so this position is looking for an owner.

I'm hoping for fresh faces to join us in championing our neighborhood!

Greg, I have enjoyed this year. I too unfortunately will be unable to serve next year but will continue  support UNRC.
