Thank you, Bodhi.

That story is the beautiful rose at the end of the thorny stems I have.
It seems so easy to be side tracked by our life's hardships, that it's a blessing to be reminded that even the hardships in our lives, are also lessons to learn by, to strengthen our spirit for the next hardship. And, that's something to be thankful for. The stronger the spirit, the closer to God you get.

I keep coming back to this video meditation practice over the years. At
least a couple. And so I want to share it. It is a very good help for me
to calm, and center when I need it. It is under the Buddhist section of
Beliefnet.com, but there is nothing specifically religous in the
meditation. The pictures shown are buddhist, but one does not have to watch

Greetings!

I found this sermon stimulating. Effecting change, openness to change, changing of my biases...these have all been areas of interest to me. I continue my studies in healthcare and analysis. I have recently begun a paper for one of my classes which is to deal with domestic violence. This is a great scourge and shameful indictment of humanity, that power can be so misused in the home against primarily the mother and children for whom the home is to be a refuge. Surely this is a change that we could get behind and support!

Yesterday on the local (Kansas City, MO) news, I heard that police
departments, EMTs, and fire departments are contacting religious
leaders to train with them to assist in the event of disaster. Have
any of you been contacted to help in the event of disaster in your
area? We of the ULC are not as high profile as other religious
